In EuroMillions news – The EuroMillions top prize was won for the 2nd time in the short space of a week on the January 31st draw. One lucky ticket holder from Spain matched all 5 main numbers and both Lucky Stars to scoop up €25.8 million.
The winning numbers drawn last Tuesday were 3, 4, 17, 23 and 44 with Lucky Stars 6 and 9. Besides the lucky jackpot winner, there were also 3 players – one each from UK, France and another Spanish winner- who matched 5 main numbers plus 1 Lucky Star to scoop €270,663 each.
For UK players, It was the first part of Mega Week, with five ticket holders each winning £1 million (€1.2 million) and a luxury holiday to either Thailand, the Maldives or Bali.
Since its launch in 2004, EuroMillions has now awarded 81 jackpot winners from Spain, putting the country just two spots behind France who leads the winners’ list as most successful nations. Last Tuesday night was the second time the jackpot has been scooped in 2017, after an Irish syndicate found their fortunes when they won a huge €88.5 million on the prior week, in the draw on Tuesday 24th January.
