“We are finally able to buy our own home!’ – The honeymoon got even better for newlywed couple who won €500,000 in the last Euromillions draw.
The Kildare couple celebrated even more after winning a €500,000 Euromillions prize. The couple who wish to keep their identity a secret, are very happy about the possibility of buying their dream house.
“We are currently living in rented accommodation at the moment and we were resigned to the fact that we probably would never have been in a position to buy our own home. We know exactly where we want to live so we will start home hunting in the next couple of days,” the newlywed husband said today.
“We’re only recently married and with our work commitments, we were not in a position to take time off for a honeymoon. We’re going to make some arrangements and make sure we get away for a romantic break in January,” the happy couple said.
The couple won their prize on the draw that took place on Friday 4th November, but only discovered their fortunes on Monday when the husband checked his numbers on his day off work.
“After buying the ticket on Friday evening, I had a long weekend in work so I was really looking forward to my day off on Monday. In the morning, I picked up the ticket and checked it on my phone.
“I was absolutely stunned when I saw the winning numbers and it only sank in after I confirmed the win with the National Lottery. I made my way up to where my wife works and when we saw each other, we just cried tears of joy as we hugged,” he said.
