In EuroMillions news, an Irish ticket holder has become the first jackpot winner of 2017. The EuroMillions player netted a whopping €88.5 million on Tuesday 24th of January night’s draw. The fortunate winner successfully matched all five numbers and two lucky stars. The winning numbers were: 1, 5, 7, 17, 23 and Lucky Stars 3 and 8 to win the 8-figure prize.

Per the Irish National Lottery, A ticket holder came forward and made a claim on the EuroMillions prize. A press release issued on Wednesday afternoon confirmed “The ticket holders have been in touch to make arrangements to collect their prize money.”
This jackpot prize is the 10th win claimed by an Irish player since the start of EuroMillions’ sales first began in the country in October 2004. The latest jackpot winner joins the likes of €115,000,000 winner Dolores McNamara in scooping a such a large windfall from the Emerald Isle, and has continued to prove that the luck of the Irish is still going strong when it comes to winning in EuroMillions.
Besides from being the 1st jackpot win of the new year, this is also the highest prize amount won since a Belgian father of 4 netted €168 million on Tuesday 11th October 2016. The latest winner must now claim their prize within 90 days of the draw date.
