Unlike the German favourite, Lotto 6/49, players from 17 European countries can participate in the draw. To claim the top prize, players must match 5 numbers from a selection of 50 and 2 from a selection of 10 numbers. The statistical probability of winning the jackpot is 1 in 95 million – for the second tier, only 1 in 6 million. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million, and chances of winning the jackpot at Euromillions are 1 in 140 million; giving Eurojackpot one of the most favourable winning odds in lotto!
EuroJackpot is a relatively new and promises to grow in the future. The jackpot averages around €10 million weekly; there is a maximum growth cap of €90 million, twice as much as the highest pay-out of Lotto 6/49. The lottery will continue to rollover until it produces a winner.
